Nowhere to Run

Kira sighed. "I vas hoping he vould try, but if you insist, ve may continue." She turned and resumed walking down the demolished street.

Dylan raised an eyebrow at the newest recruit. "Well, c'mon then." She turned and trudged after Kira.

Trey looks up, "Huh?" Then he realizes what she said, and jogs to catch up with them. "So what's the plan?" he asks.

"Try not to get killed." Kira said in a very offhand, casual way. "Not much else to do, that I am avare of."

Dylan shrugged. "I 'spose not."

Kira pressed her fingers to the bandaged half of her face. "Dylan?" Her voice was unusually small, nervous. "Something.... something is not right...." Her other arm wrapped around where her ribs and stomach met and she sank to her knees. "Something is not right...."

Dylan's eyes widened for a moment and then she gestured at the boy to help her lift Kira up. She reached down to put one arm of her companion around her shoulders to carry her off the street.

The Russian whimpered softly, another unusual noise for her. "It.... oh my god, it hurts...." She hissed under her breath. "What.... what is happening...?"

[Yeah the accent makes me look stupid, so done with it, but she still has it.]

Trey bends down to help her. He helps guide her to the edge of the street. I watch the Russian.

Dylan set her down gently and then motioned for Trey to leave.

"Go, please. Find a place to camp out for the night, at least a mile away from here. Hunker down, and stay where you are. At dawn, fire a shot into the air and we'll catch up with you."

Her tone said that she wouldn't take no for an answer, even if she had to run him away herself.

(( I'll use a short-term character so that you're not out of the RP for the time being. Trey can run into him fighting off a hoard. ))

Trey nods and runs off. He runs for a mile and finds a building, he walks in, finds a bed, and hunkers down.

Kira stared at her shaking hands, confusion filling her violet eyes. Confusion and desperation. "Dylan...." She looked up at the girl who saved her life just a day earlier. "Dylan, what is happening?" The Russian's careless, downright arrogant facade had disappeared, leaving her with little more than her fear and the tears welling up in her eyes.

Dylan swallowed the tightness in her throat and shook her head, at a loss for words. "I-I don't know." She admitted, reaching out to grab one of Kira's hands. She clutched the shaking girl's hand and tried to hold back tears.


A fairly tall girl was hanging upside down from the branch of a tree when a short kid ran underneath her. She started and nearly fell from the branch, but she regained her balance just in time. She turned to stare at the back of the kid as he sped on by, and something about him gave her a strange sense that she'd seen him before. Before she knew it, she had thrown her bird after the kid and dropped from her perch to run after him.

Kira flinched slightly, but gripped Dylan's hand tightly. She gasped as her body convulsed, blood dripping from her mouth and down her chin, onto the ground. "Oh my God...."

Dylan sucked in a sharp breath when she saw the blood. The fear made her head spin, and she heard the blood pounding in her ears. She felt like she was going to be sick.

"It's going to be ok, I promise! I'll make it better..."

Her breath hitched slightly, eyes widening even more as another flood of the red liquid poured from her mouth. "No no no no no...."

Trey sits in the building, which used to be a office building, he sat in the corner of the conference room, third floor, west side.

Dylan let go of Kira's hand reluctantly, and tore her backpack off, digging frantically for a moment. Then she realized that she had no idea what to do, or what to give her to stop this. The tears finally spilled over and she clutched at Kira's hand again, completely helpless to do anything for the strange girl that she considered her only friend, no matter how new.



Laila was panting and feeling faint by the time she reached the building that her bird had led her to. Eyota was perched on a windowsill just above the door when she reached out to open the door. With one hand on the gun, she twisted the knob and pushed in.

Kira finally gave in, letting the tears spill over. "I don't want to die.... I just wanted to go home...."

Trey looks around, feeling lonely. He hadn't the faintest idea what was going on with the other two in my group.

Dylan shook her head as a tear dripped off her cheek and fell to mingle with the blood from Kira.
"Everything's going to be alright. It will be, you'll go home and be with those you love. You're not going to die here.. I promise." She felt her hands shaking as the lies began to pour out of her. Just like she'd said to her mom as she was taking her last breath.
"Everything's going to be alright." She repeated, for Kira's sake as well as her own.


The door squeaked as Laila stepped into the building, her gun raised as she searched for the boy.

Trey pulls out his pistol as he hears the door open. He walks down the stairs and gets out of the stairway, he walks toward the door, pistol raised, at arms length.
